We are currently working in some smaller villages around Antigua, Guatemala. God has led us to to some local Guatemalan men and women who desire to see God change lives in their communities. We are working to equip, to train, to encourage, to help and support these men and women as we work together to build a community of believers who love God, who love their neighbors, and who make disciples.
We are also working on a project called Prayer Mountain. Take a look at the following Bible verses. You can see that Jesus had a rhythm to His life. It was prayer, ministry, prayer, ministry, prayer…
“Jesus said, ‘Come away with me by yourself to a secluded place and rest a little while’.” Mark 6:31.
Yet Jesus himself frequently withdrew to the wilderness and prayed. Luke 5:16
Now it was during this time that Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and he spent all night in prayer to God. Luke 6:12
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Mark 1:35
And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when evening was come, he was there alone. Matthew 14:23
Our goal at prayer mountain is to provide a place for people to follow this example set by Jesus. With that in mind, we are building cabins that are a comfortable place for individuals, families, friends, and ministries to be able to get away from distractions and focus on spending time with God, as individuals or as a group.
